Getting Started

Hidden Project is a restored browser MMORPG built around the 2014-era AdventureQuest Worlds client and a Java SmartFox game server. You create a character, travel through maps, fight monsters, complete quests and improve both your character level and individual class ranks.

Creating a character

Use the registration page on the main website. Choose a name, gender and one of the available starter classes. Character names are linked to public character pages in the website rankings.

Entering the game

  1. Sign in on the main website.
  2. Select Play Now.
  3. Wait for the client and character data to finish loading.
  4. The game opens in the current public room, normally a numbered map instance such as faroff-1.

Basic controls

  • Click a reachable point to move there.
  • W, A, S and D can be used for directional movement in the current browser integration.
  • Hold Shift while moving to sprint.
  • Select the chat input before typing. Movement input is suspended while the chat field has focus.
  • Numbered action-bar slots activate class skills when a valid target and cooldown permit it.

First goals

Start with nearby NPC quests, learn your class skills and keep usable drops. Do not assume every archived portal or quest is complete: the restoration project marks content as verified only after the full player route has been tested.

Connection behavior

The browser uses a WebSocket gateway to reach the legacy game server. Long idle sessions are supported, but refreshing the page creates a new game connection. Pending loot prompts are preserved by the game client until accepted or declined.
